murray, what is this site?
murray, I have posted 3 times questioning why I cannot get a response to requests made through this site for info from various manufacturers. Each post has been deleted right away. There was no obscenity or rudeness. I did state that someone has lost a sale and we are now looking at a stick built solution. It appears this site is geared toward generating sales of foreclosures, how to make more profit, etc. The consumer is just an excuse to have the site. Prove me wrong.
Re: murray, what is this site?
I have no idea what you are talking about...I have the ability to delete on this site and have not done so with any of your posts...
Of course the web master also has the ability and might have...It is his site..
I do not remember reading about any requests that you had...There is a place on this site to enter your requests for info...Those leads are handled by dealers...not manufacturers...
I would think if you have a specific request of a manufacturer...You should address them directly through their own web site or by phone..
This site has four forums that are primarily for consumer information...This is one of them...
The first time buyers page, insurance and mobilehome expert page..
The other 2 forums are primarily for those in the industry...The park site and Mr. Davidson's marketing forum...
This is a commercial web site devoted to the improvement of the industry..There are sections geared to all that have an interest in manufactured homes...Consumer, dealer, manufacturer and park professional...
If you have a particular request...post it here and I will try to help..

Re: murray, what is this site?
murray, I had 4 posts deleted within hours, all within the past two weeks. I simply pointed out that I could get no response and because of that was probably going to stick build. You would not have any idea since they were deleted so quickly. BTW, if you go to this home page there is a form to fill out to obtain info from manufacturers.
I am baffled as to why I can get no response. I did get a letter from a Fleetwood dealer in Texas although I stated I would be moving to Arkansas. Since August I have made requests through 13 manufacturer's websites. Nothing. A sale has probably been lost because of their lack of interest.
I am not blaming you but, good grief Charlie Brown, you've got a potential customer and you don't check your own website (not you, them).

Re: murray, what is this site?
The way the request for information works on this site is that your request is accessed by dealers in the area you are going..There is a direct question about the location and that is the way it is sorted for distribution...
Of course I assume the webmaster would be very happy if a national manufacturer subscribed to all the states that they were active in..
Since this service is fairly new...5 months old..there may well be a few under represented states...
As far as direct request to manufacturers is concerned...I assume that some of them do not service the AK area and might have not answered for that reason...of course..they could have been polite and dropped you a note to that effect...
I cannot directly help you in AK...Have you been to
http://www.championhomes.net/
they have a product locator and 650 dealer web pages that you can search and contact about the various Champion brands..You search by zip code..and are presented with info about dealers and their possible inventory in the area you want to locate...
Looks like that includes Chandeleur, Dutch, Redman, Gateway, Champion, Advantage, and Homes of Legend. Requests for info are sent directly to the dealers..They are listing choices of 2,700 possible homes...Some are not always in stock..

Re: murray, what is this site?
murray,
I contacted Champion, Fleetwood, Fuqua of Boonville, Mo (3 times) and several others that indicate they service that area. Actually, I did get a response from Jacobsen in Florida yesterday advising they don't deliver outside Florida. I have a friend in Arkansas who moved into a manufactured home last year and he has the identical story I have (his home came from Colorado). Thanks for the nice responses and information.

Re: murray, what is this site?
By the way....Jacobson's response tells you how some of them can be misleading..My dealership is in Augusta, GA...and I am right now looking out the window at a new Jacobson Homes available for sale...Just delivered a custom built model last month...Oh well...
