Need help with HUD programs

Post by Tracy Van Leeuwen » Wed May 07, 2003 11:08 am

Hi, I purchased my mobile home two years ago for $50,000. I have a ballon payment due the end of May for $40,000.

I am disabled and the federal goverment send me a Social Security Disability check every month. Due to my low income and disability status, I have reached the HUD programs available for me and there are several.

However, I have never have had to deal with a more unorganized and unhelpful federal agency than HUD. I have spent endless hours trying to get a hold of the right agency or person that can help me through the application process. Even people at HUD did not know about the programs offered even when I provided them with the section number.

If you have any suggestion on how I can speak to someone who is familiar with these HUD programs or any other help you can provide, I will be extremely grateful.

I do not want to lose my home and I know that I am eligible for many goverment programs but cannot get a hold of anyone in these goverment agencies that can provide me information or assistance.

Thanks so much, Tracy Van Leeuwen

It is a little late now...most of these programs take months to close...Talk to your lender about some sort of extention or another note for additional time...
