Hi, my husband and I are thinking of buying a MH in the park in San Jose area but we worry about the space rent. Could we negotiate a long term lease to prevent increases in the future? We'd appreciate your suggestions.

As a former Bay Area resident...
Certainly ask, all they can say is No. I'd look at a lot of parks and consider, especially, what the area around them is doing and/or might do in the future. Also, though it would be more expensive, see if you can find a co-op park, where you own the land. You could probably finance that as a regular home purchase, which would drop your interest rate from the home-only rate to the conventional rate.
