Closet Cold
Closet Cold
The one closet in the front bedroom which faces west is very cold. We had the dealer check the insulation and said everything is fine. We get most of the wind from this end of the house. Is there anything that can be done to improve this situation. It seems to help if we leave the closet door open but when you do this it creates a very cold draft coming out of the closet. This room is about sixty feet from the furnace and we get very low air output from the furnace.
Re: Closet Cold
Is there any special reason you want to spend money heating your closet?????
Re: Closet Cold
I dont really want to heat the closet. I just want to know if there is any way to insulate inside the closet.
Re: Closet Cold
Does this closet face a end of the house? If so have the dealer check to see that when the two halfs were joined the gap between the sections was sealed, underneth, behind the siding and where the soffit joins at the gable. If theres a gap anywhere wind gets in between the sections and creates drafts.
Re: Closet Cold
I appreciate your answer but I have a single wide 16x80. I am wondering if there is any way to add insulation inside the closet. The walls inside the closet are very cold. And this closet faces to the west were we get most of the wind.
Re: Closet Cold
Not without removing the inside sheetrock. If you feel its thats necesary, remove it and pack the space with more insulation.
