Vinyl skirting

Post by Bill Ege » Mon Jan 12, 2004 2:12 am

Every year when the temperature drops below freezing my skirting starts to bulge out and eventually falls out. I am afraid to cut it any shorter because they said in warmer weather it would be too short and i would have the same problem. Is there any way to solve this problem.

Gee...seems like your skirting is working backwords...Cold air makes the skirting contract (shrink)..warm air makes it expand..

Could your problem actually be wind...winter has more wind than the summer..OR..is your skirting porperly vented...The underside of your home will be warmer than the outside..causing a negative air preasure..pushing the skirting out...Both of these problems can have an easy fix..Proper venting is probably the solution of your problem...There should be vent panals in the skirt..specific panals with lots of small holes in them on all 4 sides of the home..If they are not there..you should be able to get them from your skirting supplier and install them..

Good Luck
