HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION - FOR PROFIT VS. NOT FOR PROFIT

Post by Muriel F. Varieur » Sat Oct 25, 2003 2:04 am

This question goes out to the experts in the STATE OF FLORIDA.

Our association was founded in 1986 and is a FOR PROFIT. We are presently doing a feasibility study on whether we should change to a NOT FOR PROFIT.

First and foremost, the park is NOT FOR SALE.

What would be the PROS AND CONS to change to a NOT FOR PROFIT organization?

While I am not in Florida, I was wondering if anyone on these boards would know who to contact in regards to HOA-non-profit. The community that I live in is interested in starting a not-for-profit association but would want to have more information. Money is definately an issue so before we contact an attorney we would like to see what information can be found over the internet. Anybody with links or information, please reply

Thank you

This post might help both of you...The Florida Manufactured Home Owners Association might be of some help...They are a non-profit and might be able to shed light on both of your questions..They can be found at..

No I do not...but there is another resource that could be helpful..

The Wehrman Library...remember they were in CA..but they have many articles related to park associations...

Have fun..
