What advice would you have for preparing a manufactured home for winter?
Thank you for the reply.

preparing for winter
Re: preparing for winter
Getting ready for winter is the same with any home, but I would suggest the following:
Clean the furnace. The circulating motor in the furnace, be it electric, oil, or gas,
is an "air over" motor. This means that the air warming your home, also cools the motor as it runs. If the holes in the motor casing are clogged with dirt, this restricts this air flow and creats over heating. Change the filter regularly, or clean the filter regularly if it is a permanent filter.
Make sure there are no voids, or holes in the bottom board that allow air infiltration.
Check the heat tape on the water line, if your in a freeze area.
Clean any gutters. Clogged gutters aid in "ice damming"
Insure that skirting vents remain open thru out the winter.
Hope for an early spring. Good Luck.
