cavalier homes
cavalier homes
we are interested in buying a cavalier home. Is this a reputable builder? The home appeared to be top notch. 2x8 floors, 2x6 exterior, 2x4 interiors, upgraded insulation and so on. I tried to look up their web site and all I found was alot of financial standing reports. Please help me anyone. This home is 32x80 for $64,900. Does this sound right?
Re: cavalier homes
That sounds about right, depending on the model. Their Bridgeport series is one
of their better homes, and lists for about $28 per square foot. Be aware that while
they use 2X8 floor joists, they are placed 24" OC, and not 16" OC. They are also
proud to tell you about their Delta faucets in the lavs, but they don't have popups
standard. Also, I did not care for the "seamless wallboard" that is actually the same
old wallboard they used to have with the wallpaper now covering the seam. Just be
sure to look past the eye candy in these and other homes, and get down to how
they are made.
They are willing to upgrade, but, they then get a bit more pricey, IMHO.
good luck

Re: cavalier homes
i had some questions about the cavalier homes which were answered, thanks. We are also looking a a skyline, the same model and floor plan for $1000 less. It didn't have as much detail as the cavalier. In your opinion, which would be the best home. They both have the same construction.
