belly sweating alot - please help
What would cause the belly of a MH to sweat? It is on a brick foundation with vents installed. Please help.
Re: belly sweating alot - please help
Two immediate problems come to mind.
1. The skirting ventilation is not correct. The requirement for skirting ventilation is one square foot of free area, for each 150 square feet of floor space. You will see this requirement in the installation manual provided with the home. If you are utilizing foundation vents for masonary, they will be stamped with the free area. These are generally 56 or 64 square inches. Remember 144 square inches to a square foot.
2. Mositure from the ground will rise to the bottom board, if there is no ground vapor barrier installed. This is also covered in the installation manual. Cover the ground with six mil black plastic completely to prevent "wicking".
If this situation is not corrected immediately, it will lead to additional problems.

Roy,.....would a concrete pad be the way to go with a new home being placed?
Re: belly sweating alot - please help
A concrete pad is excellent, but a lot of money. This is a cost vs value situation, that may work for some folks, and not for others.
