Mobile Home Parks

I keep reading and reading all the posts and no one really says why stay away from a mobile home park. Couldn't someone just eventually move the home to private property.

My situation is that we keep dumping money into places with no pay back (Our family lives in SE Michigan). I figured to save money we find a mobile home (we may need a co-signer due to financial difficulties) stay a few years in a park and move it to land when we are in a better financial situation. Am I looking at this dumb or what?

Hello,My wife and I have lived in a park for almost 6 years.First thing before buying the home is check out the dealer with BBS.Second talk to the people living in the park your thinking of moving into.If you think of moving your home to private land it will be very expensive and dangerous.If we could do it over again we would have stayed in our nice little apartment,Goodluck

Everyone tells you to stay out of parks because they are the quagmire of H E double hockey sticks! Turn and run! First, finding finances is apparently impossible. Think of that when you want out--no one can find finances to get in. Second, 'moving to private property' sounds great, more conventional finances etc., --but very costly and causes a lot of damage to these piece of tissue paper and do-do homes. Then all the cost of re-setting etc. I made the MAJOR mistake of getting into a MH after my husband left me, I just bought a "real" home, for a couple hundred dollars a month more am now in a georgous home (that doesn't shake when my washer runs) worth over 122,000. The sale of the MH (for 22,000.) fell through. I can't give the MH away. I stepped into a conventional home loan, zero down and 5% fixed. Even doing a land/home package from a dealer, I doubt any MH will get near it. There's a reason they cost less than an average car--you get what you pay for. I've been reading this site for over an hour looking for ideas of how to sell my home--and I'm sorry I'm venting on you--but anyone who hasn't gotten into the mess of 'manufactured housing' turn and run for the hills as fast as your little feet will carry you. No amount of "lost rent" is worth the noose. Every park you see is over half empty for a reason.

THERES NOTHING WRONG WITH FIND OUT WHAT PARK YOU WANT TO GO INTO AND THEN CHECK OUT THE RULES AND REGULATIONS OF THE PARK SEE IF ITS WHAT YOUR LOOKING FOR. I HAVE 1 BROTHER 1 SISTER AND MY MOM ALL LIVE IN A PARK AND THEY ARE FIND WITH IT . PICK OUT THE LOCATION WHERE YOU WANT TO LIVE CAREFULLY, DO YOU WANT PRIVACY? OR DO YOU MIND BEING OPEN IN THE MIDDLE OF THE PARK THE CHOICE IS YOUR?
