contiuing my shopping, I find clayton seems to give me better overall construction at a much loer price. Of similar floor plan and same size, the Clayton is $18,000 less than the Skyliner and Skyline is not giving me 16" on center construction. I think the lessor cabinetry and plastic wash basins in the clayton can easily be replaced and still not be near the cost of the other.

Check with other retailers. Not all retailers charge the same price for similar products. You may be able to find another Skyline retailer with the home you seek at a better price. Go to the manufacturers webpage or call the manufacturer for other retailers in your area.
Sounds like you do not intend to sacrifice quality for a price advantage, which is good. Unfortunately, too many folks do. Good luck.

2 diferent dealers in 2 difernt state and the same pricing.....there seems to be 'price fixing' out here..anywy, the clayton in price and structure still looks a bunch better than the other.
