Salvage Value
Salvage Value
I had a mobilehome in Oklahoma that was totaled by the insurance company. They paid the amount insured for less deductable. I contacted them and asked them to remove the mobilehome off my lot. I was advised by the insurance company that there is a clause in the insurance policy in regards to "Salvage Value" and they have decided that they have no further interest in the mobilehome. I maintain that once the paid the insured amount they had infact purchased the mobilehome and should move it off my lot and clean up around it. Am I correct or is the insurance company?
Re: Salvage Value
Almost all policies have a clause that allows them to abandon the salvage.
Re: Salvage Value
You will have to read your policy for this answer...Most homeowners policies do have money for site clean up in addition to the value of the home..as a matter of fact they also usually cover trees and shrubs that might have been damaged...Most extra coverages would be over and above the caps on the value of the home...Read yours...than call your insurance commissioner about the specific laws in your state...If the company is not following them...make a complaint..
Re: Salvage Value
I am currently looking at purchasing a piece of property that has an exsisting older molbilhome (1970's) set up on it. I have a 2004 Fleetwood I am purchasing and living in located in a mobilehome park. How would I go about getting rid of the old mobilehome so I can set up my new one at that location? How much would it cost? etc..
