I am looking into the prospect of getting into the mobile home business. I would like to know where I can find info on how much mobile home sales have increased or decreased and projected sales in the next two years.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you

MOBILE HOME BUSINESS
Re: MOBILE HOME BUSINESS
I have heard at least 50% of dealers have gone out of business the last 3 years. Home sales are down about 60% from the mid 90's. This is NOT a good time to get involved in the business either in a dealership or a new manufactured home community. There are no lenders left for chattel loans and everyone is bailing out!!

Re: MOBILE HOME BUSINESS
BigJoe is correct with his numbers...but the industry is in a time of major change..
Because of this..I think he is wrong about his concluesion..The industry is moving more and more toward permanent housing...old time sales person are leaving because the easy money of the past is gone...but great livings are being made now..and will be much more so in the next few years...
If I were just starting..I would concider employment with companies like PH..They and some of the other large chains..(Fleetwood and Champion Homes have 100's of sales lots) all have good training programs...Learn all you can..then in a few years...you might want to move on, stay with them..go on your own...
If you are talking about opening a new retail center now...much better would be top go to work for one of the above and learn what is going on..Good Luck
