What to do

Post by Bus driver 83 » Wed Feb 12, 2025 6:59 am

Insulation baffles were incorrectly installed laying on top of the insulation, not enough insulation in the attic.
Closets are Sauna’s in the summer growing mold and condensation, in the winter very cold.

Local building codes, add more insulation to the attic. Consider using fiberglass batts, spray foam, or blown-in insulation to achieve the recommended thickness.

Baffles should be installed properly between the rafters to allow airflow from soffit vents. Right now, they are likely blocking ventilation by sitting on top of the insulation. Reposition them so they create a clear channel for air to flow from the soffits to the ridge or gable vents.

Wow, that’s a tough situation! Proper insulation could definitely help with the heat and cold problems in those closets.
