e bought a foreclosure, 26x74 double wide. not sure of age or manufacturer (possibly 20 yr old titan?). How can I find out what it is? what should I know about cosmtic repairs eg walls, ceiling? Not sure what you call the "stuff" on thw walls(panel board? looks like wal paper paneling) and ceilings?(thinner than sheetrock, textured). Can I replace ceiling with sheetrock or is that too heavy? How can I best paint the walls? thanks

What is is....is very hard to do..you might want to check with the tax records...but it really does not matter now...the plant if it still exists will not have records that long and be of little help..

You probably have wood panaling with wall paper...or directly applied design...these were very popular in the time frame you mention...It must have been pretty durable since it is still there..

There are 2 publications available at this URL that you might consider buying..One is a video on how to texture and paint the panal that you have...and the other is a repair manual for manufactured homes..that covers almost everything that could be needed now and in the future..
