Pier and Ground Anchor Support System

Post by tr7111 » Fri Apr 06, 2012 12:13 pm

I have a 1987 mobile home built by del mar homes.

It has a pier and ground anchor support system. I was able to find the engineering plans for it and I see loading per pier amounts given in pounds etc.

What I'm trying to determine is if it will be okay to have a weight room put in the living room with very heavy weights.

Do I have anything to worry about? Who should I talk to about having the foundation reinforced for this purpose?

Find a local licensed MH installer and discuss him what you want to do. The wooden floors in any framed home are not designed to take a drop of heavy weights over and over. You might want to consider a small addition with a re-enforced concrete floor for that purpose.
