Your problem is not unique to manufactured homes. Gas repairs are limited to licensed companies or individuals in almost every state. Telling you to turn off the power and rework the wires sounds like a violation of safety rules. find out who licenses gas contractors in your state or local area and raise hell!!!

I have a Colman EVCON DGAT090208 Furnace 7900-6061/A the units indicator light flashes 4 times indicating the limet switch ( the switch was replaced the passed winter) along with cleaning and replacing all of the filters and worked properly thrugh the remainder of the season, the problem has recurred. Allfilter have been replaced and the unit vacumed and cleaned? I am hoping you may shed some light on what may cause this problem. Thank you

We Bought our manufactured home in,1995.The furnace in it is a Evcon model#DGATO75BDD SERIAL #951055024. We have had so much trouble with this furnace since the start! The first time my wife cleaned the furnace filters & put the filter back in,the furnace wouldn't run again. The service man finally figured out that the doors were shorting out the mother board & blowing fuses. Then he said that the doors on the furnace was either both top parts or bottoms. we left them off and then it was okay for awhile. We have replaced the mother board 4 times, the blower motor about every year. We did receive a fix-it strip for the furnace so the rain wouldn't come down the pipe & short the furnace out again, this was just a piece of foan like tape to wrap around the pipe leading up ontop the furnace.chezzy! now, we still have problems and its just not right! All the cost and replacement of parts are killing us.We now have the problems AGAIN! it won't keep running, the light will start flashing, i shut it off then turn it back on same thing happens. When it feels like it,it will work for a few days then the same stuff happens! Are we able to get this problem solved before there is a disaster? My wife is stressed to the max,she doesn't need more,it isn't a good thing when she is suffering with cancer and other health issues! please help

Mr T.

I'm sorry to hear about the aggravation the furnace is causing, health problems are difficult enough for anyone to deal with and frustration with a home appliance is not much help.

Your furnace is fifteen years old. At this point it has out lived all or most of its life expectancy. The replacements that are available today will cost only a fraction of what that old one is costing you to operate it in gas or oil and electric.

There are many federal and state programs available in different parts of the country that offer tax rebates or even grants to upgrade old furnaces to modern Energy Star quality

Read about 2011 Federal Tax Credits for Consumer Energy Efficiency

Use the map or table on this page to find information on the appliance rebates available in your state or territory.

We have a furnace model#DGATO70bdc serial # 950267276. This furnace came in our mobile home when we purchased it August, 1995. Up to this time it has run prefectly. Oh, I should tell you we are not here in the winter and keep the thermostat set at 50. Our home is checked every week to see that it is running ok. Well, 3 weeks ago, it quit running. The furnace man put a new ignition module (control box). It would then light and the igniter would come on but no gas to feed to it. So he then put on a new gas valve. Now it comes on, lights, and when the blower starts the gas shuts off and down. Then in a few seconds the blower will come back on and will not ignite and all we get is cold air. Then it will run for a short period of time and shut down. What is our next step?

Thanks for your help.

I do not mean to be brash but maybe a better trained furnace specialist is called for.
