heating my mobile home

Post by Gemini » Fri Sep 25, 2009 10:25 pm

I recently purchased a mobile home located in Creston, B.C. Canada that is heated using a wood burning (pellet) stove, that we find to be inadequate. We would like to refit the unit with propane heating. What are our options?

The best thing is to call your local gas provider and get a recommendation for a professional installer. In almost every jurisdiction gas appliances can only be installed by licensed technicians. Even if the furnace was eliminated at the factory or some time after, the duct work is still there. You can order a manufactured home HUD approved furnace and fittings from The Mobile Home Parts Store

HUD approval isn't necessary for you, however CSA approval is. These are often the same appliance, however the Canadian code is slightly different.

trmimo is correct... I failed to consider the fact that you are in Canada when I wrote my answer.
