Free Standing Deck/Door Threshold & Frost Heave

How far should a free standing deck be below the door threshold to prevent damage from frost heave? How far from the Mobile Home should it be? Is there a "rule of thumb"? We live in Northeast Wisconsin.

You will need about 4" below the door. 1/4" is plenty of distance from the house.
