Removing the heating unit

Post by cathybyrd » Tue Apr 29, 2008 9:33 pm

I have a very old heating unit that is gas. We don't have gas. Can I remove this unit myself or should I hire someone?

As long as there is no gas connected to the home you should be ok removing the old furnace yourself. If there is any gas connection to the house you would be wise to get a licensed gas appliance repair company to disconnect the home form the gas source prior to starting the removal. You will end up with a nice additional storage space. We converted ours into a linen closet.
