Front loading vs. top loading washing machine

I signed a contract for a new Clayton singlewide and probably have another month to go before moving. Right now I'm still living in the 1950's era slab house in a bad neighborhood that I sold to buy the Clayton.

I have a 5-year-old front loading washing machine, not one of the huge ones, capacity of 3.1 something-or-others. Is this going to be a problem in a mobile home? Will the spin cycle rattle the house to death? Should I sell it and get a top loader?

Actually, it used to be my old top loader clunked and rattled around and when I got the front loader, you couldn't even tell it was running unless you looked at it, it was so quiet. However, it is on a cement slab and I know a mobile home is a whole different ballgame.

Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks!

Any washer that vibrates will have a negative effect on any framed structure, as it can loosen up the nails, screws and other fasteners that hold the building together... this is not unique to manufactured homes. Top or side loading really has no bearing on the answer... you want a machine that will cause the least amount of vibration. Shaking is also just bad for that machine. It also will fall apart a lot sooner the more stress from vibration it takes. Most well build machines should not shake regardless of where they load

I have an inexpensive front-loader. It runs just fine - no excess vibration. It should be just fine. Congratulations!
