Sounds like you have tripped a ground fault breaker..They are very sensitive and a skill saw or drill can easily trip the breaker..The main ground fault circuit is in the baths and on the outside lights and exterior outlet....There might also be one in the kitchen...Also you could have driven a nail through a wire in the floor....Good Luck...

true you could have driven a nail through the wire but if I knew what manufacturer built the home I could tell you how it was wired but also remember some manufactured homes come with ground fault breakers to.

The ground fault breaker is a safety breaker designed to help you and your family avoid electricution...For it to be effective, it must be VERY sensitive...It will shut down the circuit it is in as SOON as it sees a voltage fluctuation...Almost all manufactured homes will have them on the bath wall sockets..This circuit will include the outside lights and socket too..No ceiling lights should be on this circuit..but sometimes someone made and error with the wiring....Skill saws, drills, hair dryers all will often trip this breaker..The location of the breaker its self might be in the electric box or in one of the electric outlets..Push the reset button on the breaker..New homes have them in the kitchen as well..

You might want to call a local electrician since your knowledge of electrical wiring is not up to speed...They will be able to trouble shoot the problem and repair it in a matter of minutes....Good Luck..

rmurray,
Hello I enjoy reading all your replies to the questions on this site. As an electrician for 30 years I dislike seeing someone say an electricial problem can be fixed in a few minutes. If the owner does hire a licensed electrician which he should and when given a bill for 2 to 3 hours work will feel as if he has been cheated.
Also most homeowners do not know that most insurance companies will not pay a fire damage claim if they know the home owner has had electricial work done from a non licensed electricial contractor and the fire was electricial related.

Thank you for reading our forums....Please chime in with your advice as often as you can....My point was that by the time I posted the reply you mentioned..This fellow had gone 9 days without electric in 2 rooms of his home..He also had made it clear he had little electrical knowledge..I just thought he should move on and get professional help..To me an hour or 2 is a few minutes when compared to 9 or 10 days.....

Come back often and help others too...Thanks for your observation....
