This is my first post of the questions, the next is the response And I am posting so other's may be helped. I inquire more help becasue our chimney is way higher and thus this shouldn't be the problem, now I'm awaiting more reponses from Bob Murray or of coarse anyone else who can help.
Can you please help me. I am at a lost now after 10 years. We bought our champion home in 97 and we have nothing but problems with our fireplace. We have replace the grate, the doors and the backing brick in the back. We have been experiencing smoke coming out more than going up the shoot. We have the flute open and the lever on the side is open, and still feel some cold air coming through when not in use. So I gather the air down below the trailer is open. We clean it regularly and it’s been happening ever since we had to change out the grate. Which was 9 years ago. It wasn’t too bad until this year and it just seems to be nothing we can do to stop it anymore. This starting happening before we even replaced the backing brick.
As well the fan has always been loud blowing. Never feel any air coming from the top or bottom or into any vents, ever since we got bought our home. We have never seen/felt or can contemplate the benefit, for there seems to never have been any circulation coming from it at all. I have search the internet and came across a help forum and found your postings. Can you please help me, as well can you help me find an intrustional owner manual. I only received the door manual and the fireplace installing manual.
my reply and other questions awating more responses?:
I looked and our shoot on the top of our home is way above the roof so that’s not a problem. I guess something like that should be sitting for months before use, but after 2 weeks I then used it for the winter. So it’s a dandy of a problem trying to figure this out, because our chimney measures nearly 6 ft high The masonry replaced the whole inside, and thus 2 winter’s later it looks like it’s needed another repair. The original back broke and chipped after 7 years of use and we stopped using it for safety. Now this repair hasn’t broke but there’s one brick slipped out of alignment and look like they may all start sliding outward.{?} I bought the right stuff and the proper cement. {never given a warrantee and never found someone to talk to, because when I tried to call back in 98 the business manufacturer was out of business period and I was told I was pretty much out of luck. So I had no choice but to fix it on our own. No one in town would help me but to charge me to fix it. } I wouldn’t have a clue how to rid the fan area, but I’ll talk to my hubby, we just don’t use it much but to try and draw up the smoke when it gets to billowing out, if it goes up we turn it back off. Lately that’s not even helping either.
