footings

Post by John » Sat Oct 14, 2006 6:05 am

To make a long story short the contractor that dug the footings for our modular has one end 26'8'(what it should be) and the other end 28'6'. He caught it yesterday when he was laying it out for the block layers. Can anyone tell me the correct way to fix this?

Sounds like your pouring a perimeter footing. If this is the case, he can dig down beside the area where the span is to large, and pour an additional footing utilizing rebar to "pin" the old and new footing together to form one footing. Remember this will have to be approved by your local building official.
