Hi,
I dont know much about mobiles except what logic dictates. I am looking at a 1983 double wide in an existing park north of Dallas. The owner said it hasn't been leveled in a while. I was thinking about getting an inspection under it to see what condition the floor and pipes and their insulation is in. Can anyone give me a ballpark on what it cost to inspect, and level and if needed wrap pipes? Its 24x48 with two baths.
I have not had any luck searching internet yellow pages for people that could do the inspect/level. What are they called?
Thanks
Richard

Re: buying used mobile home
Best bet for inspections is to hire someone who works on mobile homes. They may not be a 'certified' inspector, but they know what to look for. Many typical house inspectors aren't familiar with mobile-home specific stuff so they could easily miss something. I applaud you for getting an inspection. It should only run you $100 tops.
Releveling will likely cost you around $400-$800. A new heat tape will probably run around $150-$300 depending upon the length of the pipes.

Richard,
I am here in Dallas area. Which park is the home located in? I might be close and can atleast give you an idea if something is needed. I can also give you a few phone numbers to call to hunt down someone who can do the leveling for you.
