Painting Ceilings

i would like to paint my ceilings.i have a 1998 Manufactured singlw wide.The ceilings are textured similiar to stick built ceilings.Looks like one piece.Should i use a standard ceiling paint?i am sure that they are not sheet rock.Thanks,Sandy

Not sure.It looks like popcorn.i do not think that it was sprayed on.

Okay, Im not sure how you would tell if its sprayed or not as alot of later model MH's do have a sprayed ceiling, but lets go with the assumption that it is. Yes it can be painted. But, the downside is that some of the material will fall off as your painting. Using a very thick napped roller will help. Actually, the ceiling should be cleaned first, something you should do before painting anything. Tom

It sounds like you have a "popcorn" ceiling - the best way to paint these is with a sprayer. You will be done quicker and you loose less of the texture. The downside - you will need to mask off everything and use lots of plastic on the walls and floor. Spraying will also look better than rolling.

Why have gutters on Mobile Homes

The biggest reason for gutters is to keep the rain from running underneath the home. If the site of your mobile home is properly prepared and sloped, you may be fine not needing gutters although in time it may make a little trench around your home.
