Moving your MFG
Moving your MFG
I've recently married and moved to Oregon where my husband resides in his 1995 dbl wide MH on leased land. Well, the land lease is coming up in 16 months and now his Ex-wife wants her name removed as well (she would like to purchase a home with her new husband) We have been going around and round with refinancing vs the ideal of purchasing land and moving the house. Wow what a difference from Calif. For one they usually don't buy a house and put it on someone elses land and they usually don't go around moving their houses like they where 5th wheels. I have submitted to the MH finder- hopefully they will respond. I have been driving around looking at property for months. The locals state that the bank won't finance (the land and moving the house) unless there is water established on the land. Lots of land list: septic approved, but never "Hey we have a well all set up for you, come and get it!" kind of situation. This has been soo stressful. I wanted to just move it,buy land and drop the ex name all in one transaction. This is harder than I thought. Today is my first day at this site, hope some advice will follow.

Sounds like setlling and selling with the EX might be the right financial move..Let her wrestle with renewing the lease..

Not sure where you are, but give Santiam Homes a call. They run a small mortgage brokerage and construction company as well as being a home dealer. Also, Washington Mutual does all-in-one construction loans, which is similar to what you want. I'd get onto your own land if you can afford it. Where I live, there are two parcels for sale with a shared well.
