Restoring to original condition

Post by Dayna » Sat Apr 10, 2004 4:10 pm

I heard something about insurance companies being forced to fix something to it's original integrity. For instance, if you are missing many roofing shingles or floor tiling and they are no longer manufactured, the company is forced to replace all of them in order to, to the best of their ability, restore that which was there. Since this is supposedly the law, they are unable to raise your deductible.

Is this true? Do you know where I could find out more about New Jersey law on this matter? Any information you could provide would be much appreciated. Thank you.
