Operating Expense Guidelines

I am a MH dealer interested in accessing data related to average or typical gross margins and operating expenses or ratios for the manufactured housing industry. This information is readily available for other industries such as the building industry, however, I have had difficulty locating a reliable source for this info for MH dealers. Any suggestions?

My suggestion would be to contact James Clifton, Vice President of Economics and Housing Finance at the Manufactured Housing Institute. You can reach him at 800-505-5500. He is working on several statistical areas for the industry.

I too am a Manufactured Housing Dealer. Probably the main reason you can't find this information is because of the high profits. I have sold new and used, you can make more money with the used. I average 8-12K per house. Now, if it was easy for you to find this info. wouldn't everyone be doing it? Just like the car business, hard to make any profit cause there are so many doing it!
