Hello to the board--
As I have posted on the board before, I am located in NJ and am looking to put up several used mobile homes on different lots. One of the several concerns I have that I fear my installer may overlook if Im not vigilant is the issue of the supoorts/piers/jacks underneath the MH.
I know that the home must be supported exactly as specified by the manufacturers instructions. But where can you find these installation instructions w/ used mobiles. I would obviously be looking for homes built after '76, but do manufacturers generally keep these set up instructions handy? Is this just one of the 'rolls of the dice' w/ used MHs? Thanks.
Omar
foundation supports and piers
Re: foundation supports and piers
Most likely the manufacturer will not have them any longer...If they are not with the home...there will be an alternative..
Under the new HUD regulations..every state has an alternative set up guideline for the instance when a manual is not available..All set up crews will have to be state licensed..and will have had to have class room training to get the license...This training will cover the states alternative set up guide line..
You could ask you local building inspector about the code..
