I have a 1986 Parkwood, and have also tried to find out more information on it. I have found that Parkwood was manufactured by the Sterling Corporation, in Bristol, Indiana, however, this company is no longer in business. I know this doesn't really help you much, but I just thought I'd let you know what I found on my search for more information.

In 1977 parkwood was an independant manufacturer in Bristol, Indiana. They were started in the 1960's. Originally a mid-range house, they began moving upwad in price in the late 70's. In the late eighties they ran into money problems and merged with the Sterling Corporation to form Homecorp. Homecorp only lasted 2 or 3 years before it closed as well. Parkwoods are generally regarded as sutrdy, durable houses. They were known for having raised, step up kitchens and being one of the first manufacturers to use shingled roofs on single wides.
