I would like to design my own floor plan for our

manufactured home builders that will work with buyes
to design a floor plan of their own?
buyer designed floor plan
Re: buyer designed floor plan
I think that Silvercrest and hallmark both will do this. (In California and some other western staaates) But you will pay for it. Another way to go would be modular, that can be totally customized from what I understand.
Re: buyer designed floor plan
Typically they won't. It is because they will have to take your floor plan, design the plumbing, heating, electrical, etc, and then submit all of these plans to their design approval agency for review.
The cost to have these drawing reviewed to build one house is pretty steep.
If you want a custon floor plan, go stick built.

Re: buyer designed floor plan
Karsten will let you design your own floorplan depending on the plant you are buying out of.

Melissa:
Since my firm specializes in custom designed manufactured and modular homes, we know there are manufactured/modular home companies that will work from "napkin" drawings to develop your floor plan design. However, the overall cost is somewhat higher than a standard floor plan structure but is dramatically less than a comparable stick-built home.
Also, the mfd home companies only sell through authorized retailers, but not all such retailers are willing to work with customers who want customization. This is usually because of the time involved and other factors.
If you haven't already done so, contact your local retailers. They can likely direct you to a firm in your area that can help. If not, contact your state manufactured home association for assistance.

Re: buyer designed floor plan
Many of the top line manufacturers offer full customization of the floor plan..In addition to those others have listed here..I am aware of Palm Harbor..Homes of Merit..Jacobson..Horton.....
Generally the lower priced homes..factories that depend on low price sales will not customize a home..
Also...many factories have many more approved floor plans than they regularly offer...find a product that offers all of the upgrades you desire and submit your floorplan...They may already have something like it approved..
Get it your way..Good Luck
