Unifrom Builders code vs. HUD code

We live in California. My husband and I were talking about a conversation we had with a dealership salesperson and now we want to know what the difference is between the HUD code and the Uniform Builders Code? Is one better than the other? It sounded like the salesperson was saying that some people want their manufactured home built to the Uniform Builders code instead of the HUD code. Why?
