Looking for Financing!

Post by Jackie » Fri Jul 08, 2005 1:08 pm

I would like to know if you think it would be possible to get financing for a new manufactured home? We have an acre of land that my family gave us but do not want to put the land in with the loan. I have $5000 to put down on the home I am also self employed. My credit score is 630. The homes we are looking at are around the $60,000 range. Also would it be a good idea to get pre-approved for a loan before shopping? We are wanting to make the move soon!

There are several companies that do nothing but chattel (home only) loans on manufactured home, but some of the ones with the lowest rates are not national. The state you live in could make a 1-2% difference in rates depending on who does business in your area. Not everyone is listed with firms like the one David suggested, so may I suggest you also ask around in your own area? You may find better terms and rates if you check around. Good Luck!
