Dealing with Manufacturers

Post by David Priest » Sat Jun 11, 2005 11:13 am

I am seriousely considering a Skyline-Vermont home but I'm having a terrible time getting specific information. Skyline sent me some brochures and emphasized that I have to deal directly with a dealer. I don't have a problem with this if I could find a dealer that had some inventory and that was interested in sales. I f you aren't going to buy immediately or don't plan to locate in a park they own they don't want to talk to you. I've gone over the Skyline list of dealers in my area(South Central New England) and found that many of the names on their list just disappeared during the MF Home washout in the late 90's. I don't want a custom home as such but I do want to the noisey Miller furnace to a Carrier located in a basement etc, etc. Any suggestions.

Skyline is a good home, but as they say, they are not the only game in town.

You could try other comparable companies.
