Is it really hard to buy a MH?

I am currently in san jose, ca (silicon valley). I recently bought an old Mobile Home (1980 Lancer). I went through a broker and when Escrow came along. Prices for the final was more than I thought. My fixed APR for the loan was 10-11%. I really got burned at the end and I still waiting for the keys to the place.

Is it me or has anyone encountered this situation before? My lenders points were at the max (2%). But anyhow, it beats renting. Boy, it's expensive over here..
