Closet Doors?

I noticed that the closet doors in the homes I walked through had the doors raised a few inches above the floor. Why are they like that? It does look alittle funny. For air circulation is my best guess.

You are exactly correct....In an effort to promote energy conservation HUD requires a certain amount of ventilation in every room..

Some of the better manufacturers use doors that go all the way to the floor and put in vents in the wall above the door...Shop around a little more..
