After MUCH debate, pouring over and over and yes OVER floorplans. We are going with a Homes of Merit home. We reside in Florida and they will be basically customizing a floor plan from Homestead Homes and bringing that up to the same standards relative to Homes of Merit contruction goes. i.e. 2 x 6 exterior walls, 2 x 4 interior walls etc. My question is I have heard that the Lake City plant builds some of the best homes as compared to other plants go. Is there anyway to determine or request that a home be built in a certain plant? The Lake City plant is close to us and we would be able to visit the plant to watch our home being built.
Lastly, can anyone provide any suggestions relative to dealership experience with Homes of Merit dealers in North Florida? Thanks in advance and we are SO glad we found this site.
Best regards,
Tom

Re: Homes of Merit
Yes and Yes..
Call the plant and ask for the sales manager Mark Klinger...Tell him where you live and ask about dealers in your area...
The largest dealer for all of HOM is right in Lake City...C&G Homes...Ask for the owner Mike Collins...He is so important to HOM that he has his own sales person and service crews at the plant...You could not ask for a better guy to deal with...
I have know Mike for over 25 years...long before he owned that dealership..he has always been a serious dealer taking care of customers...Good Luck...
