We're considering the purchase of a Hart home. (I've got both your books, Randy, and I think we've gotten some good guidance from them. Thanks) We would be upgrading to full drywall, 5/12 pitch roof, additional insulation. Hart doesn't secure the electrical boxes to the studs, they are in the drywall. How important is the attachment to the stud?

Hello Clara,

Hart is a good home. Why they don't nail the electrical boxes to wall studs is frustrating. But as long as you know that they are not properly supported you just need to be careful when pulling on the cords from the outlets.

We were considering purchasing a Hart home, but found out that it only comes in the Novadeck flooring..after reading so many topics on the forum, we have changed our minds about the home due to this factor...also, we have found that the Creation Windows (double hung, double tilt) are not as sturdy and air tight as the single hung. We have been "shopping" for almost a year and still can't decide on which house is the best for the money! Should these 2 factors keep us from purchasing a hart home? Or would we be better off with American Heritage home by Patriot????

Hello Amanda,

Both manufacturers are a good choice. There is no perfect home builder, there are pro's and con's with each builder. If you follow my construction guide in my books you'll be able to choose either company and add some up-grades and have a wonderful home.
