I have been doing alot of reading on this forum and actually visited the HADD website. After viewing that site I was compelled to write. I have bought Randy's book and have found it very helpful. I have a few opinions, so I hope I don't hurt anyones feelings.
First off I notice a lot of people expecting a $200,000 quality homes for 60,000. Not going to happen. A person actually bought a home for 19,900 and is having problems. Heck I paid that for my 5th wheel and I have problems. My understanding is that you will have problems with any product, trucks, trailers whatever you buy. Our friends recently had a home built (stick) 250,000 and it is falling apart (mold, water, etc). The problems are everywhere, and I sincerely wish the best for everyone. I am still considering a MH home because they are CHEAP and a good value, no other reason.

Don't make the mistake of thinking that just because a site built home costs $250,000, it's of high qualilty. Generally, the higher price reflects more square footage/land and your friends who are having all the problems are no doubt finding this out. . I work in the housing (site built) industry and I can assure you that many, many of these "upscale" houses are shoddily built and are, perhaps, even inferior to factory built housing. Also built into the price of the site-builts is the land it's sitting on.
