We're looking to build a modular home in Michigan, and we ran into a huge difference in price for the exact same models. When I say huge, I am talking on the order of a $20k price difference on their printed price lists, across the line. Both are authorized builders of Pinnacle Building Systems modular homes. I even made sure that one price was not including things that the other was. One thing to note is that the two builders are on different sides of the state, so I don't know if geography plays a role in pricing.
Is this magnitude of price variation typical for the manufactured housing industry? Is there any reason why I should go with the more expensive, given that both of them are authorized by Pinnacle Building Systems?

Re: modular home price variation
Hello Francis,
Modular homes will normally cost between $60 to $80 per square foot after everything is done. Good luck.

Re: modular home price variation
I like to know the answer to this also. We went to a couple dealers in our area (not even across the state from each other) and they seem to quote much different prices including the option prices. What gives? Why do they do this? Doesn't this industry have any price integrity?
