Help!

Post by Dana » Thu Oct 25, 2001 1:08 pm

I found out yesterday that I am qualified for about $70,000. We had chosen a Golden West home for $79,000. I was disappointed, because I was told by a realtor that I could get between $80,000 to $100,000. The mfh has a small diningrm right off the livingrm, a nice white kitchen w/kitchen nook, small laundry rm in kitchen, 2 bathrms and 3 bedrooms. We thought for sure we would be able to get it w/out a co-signer. Now my husband wants to look at some other homes. My concern is getting junk due to not being able to spend more. Palm Harbor claims to beat any price. Can anyone shed some light on whether this is true. Also Ma Williams claim to do the same. We really need help in trying to figure this out.

Thanks

Hi Dana,
Sorry about your disappointment. My friend that I have told you about in Rancho Dominguez has a Fleetwood home. They manufacture them in Corona. Her's is a bit bigger than my Golden West yet her home without the upgrades cost $79,000 where ours without the upgrades was $89,000. My point being that perhaps Fleetwood has some floorplans that would work for your family and be within what you qualify. Keep me posted! I am posting this here so anyone can give opinions about the Fleetwoods as well.

Hello Dana,

I would look at a Palm Harbor and stay around the 1500 to 1600 sqf. range.
