How do the Fleetwoods compare?

Post by Jolane Wiegand » Mon Sep 24, 2001 1:09 pm

I've been looking to buy a new doublewide and have mainly looked at Cavco, Champions, etc., manufacturers that I considered "top of the line." All of these homes have been around $60,000 with all of the options I want. I looked at Fleetwoods the other day, and though they don't have some of the options I want they seem to be fairly well built and priced a lot less that what I've been looking at! Any negatives on Fleetwoods out there?

Hello Jolane,

Fleetwood has a number of series or lines of homes. It really depends on which line you're looking at. My book goes into detail in regards to construction and what to look for. I would encourage you to get yourself a copy. You can order on-line throught this web site. Go to main page and click on buyers guide.

Thanks for the info, by the way I have already purchased your book a few months ago. It was helpful. I'm pretty set on a Fleetwood - the house seems to be constructed really well and the price is right - I figure I can do upgrades to the walls, etc. myself. I was just curious if anyone had any comments about the manufacturer, good or bad. I like to feel that after looking for months that I am making the right choice!
