VA Loan - veterans adm HELP

Post by K Davis » Tue Apr 11, 2006 7:44 am

Please help if you can. We are going through a mortgage company to buy a manufactured home and 10 acres of land in Florida. My husband is in the military so we decided to go with a VA loan. We are at the end of our 3 month contract on our land and the home dealer will not submit the needed paperwork to complete the loan. We are closing on the land and the home at the same time and the money for the home will be kept in escrow until it is is set up. Now the dealer is saying that he wants the money before the home is ordered and delivered instead of waiting as is required by VA. Also, VA requires the installer to have VA certification. THIS IS OUR FIRST HOME PURCHASE. DOES ANYONE KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT VA REQUIREMENTS? I think I will going to a different dealer and home. I believe this will require a new appraisal. This is a Horton Home.

Va does require the contractor to be approved. It requires a slight background check and takes a day or 2. Pretty simple. As for the home being delivered VA has not rule on this. The loan will not fund prior to being set up and finaled and inspected by VA.

Been there done that. The dealer is looking for a quick sell, because they know the VA drags there feet on this. I live in Louisiana and the VA required me to put my MH (Double Wide) on a slab (real expensive) so that it would be equal to a regular home and would be able to finance me. Well I received a loan just as good no closing costs, etc. It was all placed in the loan. Best of luck and Semper Fi!
