Roof

Post by Tony » Wed Aug 10, 2005 2:58 pm

I have a 1986 Patriot Mobile home. I recently purchased it and have no idea when the roof was last done. ( It does not have shingles) My question is can I walk on the roof and put another coat of whatever you coat the roof with? If not how do I apply it? What do I put on it?

Thanks

Tony

You can walk on the roof....BUT.....you should lay some planks on the roof first. Like strips of plywood 2' wide or so,

I'm not trying the be a know-it-all but believe me if you don't know what youre doing spend a litte extra and pay a professional. Me and my husband tried to put roof coat on our mobile home - needless to say it is HARD and we ended up spending money for materials we bought plus getting a pro to FIX what we did wrong. They sell the roof coat at building supply stores - Home Depot or Lowes have a better selection. We had silver put on ours first and we got white done this year and it made our home cooler for the summer. Hope this helps. Suzann
