I'm looking to replace the vinyle skirting on a single wide mobile home. 16'X78' are the dimensions. I don't know how to go about getting a more resistant skirting to were it doesn't dent and resist tearing due to electric trimmers.

You can minimize these problems with vinyl skirting by installing a backer to it but vinyl will still have some of the problems you mentioned. You have several options, Hardi panel, cinder blocks, system-1 or brick but these other options are costly.

No matter what you use, make sure you provide the required ventilation. typically 1 sq foot of free ait for every 150 sq ft of floor area.

No matter what system you use, don't let your mobile home get out of level. All that wieght coming down on any skirting will break solid sheets. Vinyl can be replaced one piece at a time. Surround your home with landscape that will not allow grass to grow near your home. That's what I am doing.
