Moving a Modular?

Post by Sarah » Fri Jan 31, 2003 6:47 pm

Hello,

My husband and I are considering buying an adjoining property. It has a modular on it that is in fair condition, but I am interested in only the land. Is it feasable to sell and move the modular? It is on a permanent foundation, it's a 95 Cavco about 1100 sqare feet. Can anyone give me an idea of how much it is worth?

Thanks!!!

If you are reffering to a manufactured (mobile) home it can be moved easily but the cost is a little high for this size home...about $ 4000....

If it is a true modular with no frame the costs are much higher to move but..
It can be moved...just as any stick built home can be moved...but it is very expensive and very few buyers will want to make the effort...especially this small of home...You likely market will be investors and they do not pay much...

If the price of the lot with home is about the bare land price this could be an option...but..if the price involves value for the home..it is not...Also..if you finance the land...you will not be able to sell the home independently...It will be part of the value of the finance package..
