Searching for VIN

I need to find the VIN on my Chardon mobile home. I searched around the hitch area and found nothing. So far all I have found is the serial numbers. I need to find the VIN so the DMV can issue a new title. I don't even know what year this mobile is. Thanks for any help.

The VIN number is the seriel number...You have it already..

Murray, The serial number I have is only 8 characters. The DMV needs 17.
The serial number is the only thing I found stamped on the front frame. I didn't find anything on the hitchs. Thanks again for any help.

VIN..means vehicle identification number..The seriel number you found stamped on the frame is the VIN...

There is NO number on the hitch...There would also be the same seriel number on the data plate (sheet) somewhere on the wall in the home..

The problem you have is the clerk at the title office...Auto VINS are always 17 numers/letters long...but manufactured homes have all different formats..At Palm Harbor all numbers are 9 long...Go back to the title office and ask for the supervisor..explain to them you have a manufactured home..and this is the VIN..

Help!! I am trying to find the correct year of manufacture of my Friendship mobile home. The title says it is a 1997. We were told we were buying a 2002. We can't find the date plate on the outside of the mobile. Any ideas??

A couple of things you could do...

1) call the friendship homes factory with the seriel number on the title and ask for a history on the home..

2)..You could take the title to your local title office..they will have a complete history on the title..including the manufacturers certificate of origin..these are required to get the initial title..The will have the exact manufactuers date on them..

3)..The "data plate" is NOT on the outside of the home..It will be on the wall in a closet..or on the back of a cabinet dorr somewhere inside the home..it will look like this..

I found the silver plate that saids about the home was inspected by the manufacture But it also saids see the data plate i was not able to find the vin or the data plate to get the info i need. I have the address of the home it is 501 jungle rd. bernville in PA . it is a 3 bedromm trailer one bath single Please help me to find this info out.
