Champion, or Castle ? Help..in PA

Post by Jo » Fri Nov 05, 2004 3:33 pm

Hello, We are looking into purchasing a manufactured home. We have looked at many different models. Im wondering if anyone has any good info about what manufacturer builds the best home structure wise. If there are any upgrades that you would recommend getting FOR SURE and any other advise you can offer.
Thanks in advance,
jo

Jo.
A couple of big things to consider:
If your home is going on a basement, make sure your home has a peremeter frame. Don't allow your dealer to set a standard 99 1/2" wide frame on a full basement.
I would get a higher pitched roof. like 5/12.
I would get a upgraded roof load. PA is in the 20 pounds per square foot snow load area. I would get at least a 30 pound roof.
regarding the two homes, Champion, built in PA is by far the better home.
They are not even close!

Does anyone know anything about olympian modulars made in PA? or Pine Grove? I just dont have a clue where to start when it comes to these builders.. There are so many here in PA.. im unsure who builds the most structurely sound home. If anyone has any input, I would appreciate it greatly.
Thank you

I never heard of Olympian, but Pine Grove Homes builds one of the best homes in the nation!
Plus their service is first class.
