NEw manufactured home

Post by Richard Gould & Kimberly » Mon Jun 21, 2004 7:28 am

We bought a 2004 new manufactured home 16 by 80 foot..I have had more repairs that have not been done in 6 months till now for the most part tons... The manufacture sent two guys out here and they where so disrespectufl and runien more than they fixed or made amess of what they did and my roof repairs is a joke and have now aprox. 30 holes this guy told the maufacture he used 3 1/2 bundles of shingles to fis my roof and he only used one! He gave me all them bundles... I was not only upset at what they did or did not do right but the fact to that I was harrased the hole time and questiond and smart remarks..Workman ship that you would not believe...My carpet ruined walls..... molding.. I even took many pitures of the damage and work they had done.. Now I am dealing with the Service manager at Patriot Homes and he is even shocked. I also recieved a settlement on my kitchen flooring that he wants us to get noterized and sign but allot of big words that don't want to make me sign it.. WHat do I do and where can I go for to find out a lemon law or something on this trailer..Even the comapany that sold it to me put there hands up in the air because there was somauch damge to this home .. So then I waited 6 months to hear or get someone to some out here and then to have all this to deal with.. By the first day they had been here I cried and to take a nerve pill with a headache so bad.. I need help and don't know where or who to talk to and find out my rights...
Sincerely Kimberly Zock & Richard Gould from Pa...

Lemon laws ONLY relate to automobiles...nothing else..

Your best bet seems to be the service manager at the factory...You said even he was surprised about what has happened..and seems to be trying to help..

Before you accept a settlement...be sure this is what you want...and that the amount will pay for the replacement or repair of the item...The release form would be required so you do not try to claim on this item again....but if it is complicated..you are right you need some help...Call the dealer and ask him to review it with you..or call an attorney for advice..

Your state has a department that regulates the manufacture..sales and set up of manufactured homes in PA...Call this office and ask how to file a complaint...The state will inspect the home and order..the factory..dealer..to repair in a short period of time...They will also tell you if you are being unrealistic..

Keep good records of everything that has happened. Names and titles of everyone you talk to. If negotiations fall through you may have to take your case to small claims court. If you have good documentation you can try to represent yourself or hire an attorney. Complain, complain, complain. Tell them exactly what you want done. Your state probably has a department of consumer affairs. File complaints. Good luck.
